When trying to run the PA version of HP Library and Tape Tools (HP_LTT), I get
an error from "ARIES32": PID 3198 received SIGSEGV for stack growth failure.

There seems to be no version for Itanium there:

Ist that true?

AFAIK yes, there is no IPF version of HP L&TT for HP-UX. We usually
remove drives and connect them to a PC running the Windows version of
L&TT to test and update tape drives.

I don't use the tool normally, but HP hardware support insists on running a
test before they schedule any replacement.

"Did you get any yellow mewssages?" "No, I'm using the text interface, there's
no yellow there" "I've never seen the text interface; I only use Windows" ;-)

Soon I can get hardware support from Microsoft ;-)

Did you take a look at the Aries reference page and try tuning the
configuration at all?
