Winbind problems for ADS authentication

I am trying to set up a centos 4.3 server using samba ADS security mode with winbind. I got everything working, however to allow users from client machines to log in, I have to run "wbinfo -u" before they are able to login.

If I don't run that command, I get reply_spnego_kerberos(250) Username DOMAIN\user is invalid on this system.

I tried running winbindd with -n option and that causes all logins to fail completely.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Also it seems that my ability to log in doesn't last forever. After being away for a while, I tried to log into the machine again, and got the same invalid user error until I ran wbinfo -u, then everything was working again.
