postfix out of memory error - please help

Hi Guys,
We are running postfix on an openbsd system and we have over10,000 emails sitting in the mail queue with this message appended to them - " out of memory", I have checked the system memory and there appears to be sufficient memory ( ram, virtual; swapspace etc.) to run services, can you please suggest a way to fix this mem problem so that the mails can start going through the system?
