It's kind of like the drug trade. Remove the demand, and there won't be
a need for the suppliers any more.
Not the greatest analogy, but it'll do for the opportunistic cheap shots
thrown at the US whenever anyone feels like it. Pffffftt.
So you'd approve of and be happy about a US government unilateral decision
to stop forthwith all "protection, food, charity, and just general "help"
