Not a bug, but you might have problems upgrading if the
partitions are too small. Solaris 10 has a lot more stuff
than Solaris 8.

My rule of thumb is:

If there are any non- SUNW* packages, don't even think about upgrading.


Sometimes, upgrading works. More often, it breaks.
Going from 8 to 10, I'd push for clean re-design and re-install
even for the box with SUNW* packages only.
What's the point in upgrading to Solaris 10, while keeping
the last century's technology - no containers, no SMF, no ZFS?

That should not matter except for things which support filesystems,
like Veritas and otehrs.

Works mosst of th etime for me (I upgrade +/- 10 systems using jumpstart
every other week)
