Big update yesterday, including a new kernel. This morning, on booting up, X
wouldn't start. The logs reported that the nVidia modules weren't found.
Had to go into Yast and reinstall the nVidia installer script, which fixed
the problem. Of course, because of the new kernel I also had to recompile
the nVidia driver to get hardware acceleration. Also had to reconfigure
VMware. So quite a busy morning. This came hard on the heels of a major
electrical storm having borked our Iiyama LCD screens (both of them).
Fortunately, Iiyama is swapping them under guarantee (in two working days
in spite of us being deep in the countryside, so quite impressed). Seem to
have done nothing but sort technical problems the past couple of days, so I
guess I'd better get on with some work...

Patches are deliverd when they are ready. Configure YOU to run it daily.

A 'refresh' of all CD's will happen with 10.2 and not before.
The CDs are as they are and will not change till when they are not
supported anymore. That is also the keypoint 'suported' and the reason
why they won't change. It will be hell to need to ask people to find out
each time what version of the version they have and if that is the set
they used for installation, or if they used something else.

One giant rpm won't happen. If you want all the updates every few hours,
use rsync.
