Greetings,

I updated a server from AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.3 and now there is an extra
field
in syslog's output file.

Old format:
Jul 20 16:30:51 hostname status: message

New format:
Jul 20 16:30:51 hostname local7:debug status: message

It seems the newer version adds the facility:priority in its output.
We have an app that reads this file and parses the line.
Now, of course, the app is not working correctly.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for this (other than changing the
app)?

Thanks,
Brian
