I am considering buying this laptop and have not been able to find out
much information on running linux on it.

I have checked the usual sources and done goggle searches.

Is anyone running this with Linux? If so please list what distro and
version and any hardware that is not functional or required special
manipulations to work.

Thanks

Jeanette

Really? Are you reading the same things as me? To me it says that
Mandriva works well, ACPI is problematic (there's a surprise!) and
bluetooth doesn't work, but wireless and USB work and the screen is
configured correctly.

What more do you want?

Well he talks about that the wireless was a problem to set up and get
working but he does not say what he had to do to get it working and the
reason I am looking at a new laptop is because of not being able to get
the damn wireless working.

So thats a major thing I need to know. Also he tried two other
distributions before Mandriva and could not get them to work.

Its only one persons experience and it would be helpful to know from
several other people.

Is that enough for you or are you going to go on and on about this and
contribute nothing?

Let's remember - *you* are *asking* for a favor. Your attitude will gain
you nothing.

If you want more, offer to pay for our experience. I take paypal.

If you'd actually bothered to ask for specific information then maybe
someone would have obliged.

Complaining about not getting enough info on wireless connections when
all you asked for was information on 'any hardware that is not
functional or required special manipulations to work' is not going to
get you any favours.

Come back when you know how ask for help properly...
