Fedora 5 What is Beagle?

I noticed in FC5 when running Firefox in the lower right
corner there is an icon for 'beagle'. What is this program
for?

Hit up Google, I just put in "Fedora core 5 beagle" and got a few hits
on what it is. From what I gathered, it looks like it's some sort of
desktop search tool.
