Solaris 8 install image and software v1 and v3 images

Someone told me that the solaris 8 install image doesnt work?
Seriously?

I've downloaded and burnt all three as CDs (yes, I did it properly and
created from image using Nero). The installation instructions tell me
to boot from install CD but it just sits there. About to try the
software V1 CD.....

Is this the way to do it?
