SuSE 10 and Voodoo3 2000

One problem is:
How to enable 3D acceleration of my old 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 under Suse. I
googled a lot. Found some old pages said it can be enabled, but I can not
follow those very old methods. They just don't work in SUSE 10.
The other problem is:
When I use Mplayer at a tty console, I wrote "mplayer abc.asf -vo tdfxfb
/dev/fb0", where 'tdfxfb' is the module loaded by kernel for my voodoo
card, and '/dev/fb0' also exists, but mplayer can not play, while it can
play in X with the command "mplayer abc.asf -vo xv". When I check
"cat /proc/fb", it only reports '0 VESA VGA', while some googled page said
it should report '0 3DFX Voodoo3'. It looks like the framebuffer is also
not enabled correctly for my old card.
I am wondering if any one happen to run X on this old card. Thank you. |
