Hello all,

I am trying to perform a NIM bos_inst rte install with a custom
image_data resource. The problem is that the BOS installation
doesn't appear to use the logical partition and file system
sizes specified in my image_data file. Interestingly, if I
specify a script for the BOSINST_FILE parameter the script does
run, so I believe the target to be mounting and using the
correct file. Indeed, in the TFTP info file the NIM_MOUNTS
macro calls out where to find NIM_IMAGE_DATA.

Other than this, my bos_inst rte installs seem to work perfectly.
Does anyone have any ideas on why the LP and FS sizes are being
ignored?

The only customization I've done from the base image_data
template is to set SHRINK=yes, PPSIZE=5, and tune the LPs, PP,
LV_MIN_LPS, FS_SIZE, and FS_MIN_SIZE parameters accordingly.

Any insight into this problem is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Greg

because the image_data is messed up ?

IMHO a PPSIZE of 5 will almost fail. On nowaday disk a ppsize pf 256 is
pretty nice.
On small disk use a appropiate one.

So revoke all your changes and rethink what you want to achieve.

Thanks so much, that did the trick! The problem was that in my mind I
was stuck on the idea that PPSIZE should be log2(PP size in MB) rather
than the actual PP size in MB. Don't ask :-)

In retrospect I should have read the image.template more carefully and
ran mkszfile for a reality check. Sheesh..

Anyway, thanks again!
