Automate client install. Where to start ?
|
|
|
Hi - I'm new to the world of automating installations and we have lots
of clients and I want to install an Oracle 10g app. whose install
instructions run for quite a few pages.
Where do I start? Are scripting tools the right place, such as KiXtart
or Windows Script Host.
TIA

Just look for 'silent install' in the OUI documentation

Also look for 10g Instant client which does not require a "typical
setup".

Thanks - will this let me install all the other (non-Oracle) bespoke
stuff that is part of my install? I think I may be after something a
bit all-ecompassing than 'silent install' which, presumably, just does
Oracle ?
Cheers
