Hi,

I am new to Sybase.

Here is my problem:

I added a new column to a table . I did this by truncating the
table, dropping it and creating the table with the new column .This
tabele belongs to say B DB.

when I do a sp_help on this table it wont show up the new columns.

Alos I am accessing the table from a stored -procedure from A DB .The
stored procedure also throws up "invalid column name error"

I dont know what is wrong .

Please help!

Thanks
Gayatri

I'm pretty sure sp_help will show the new column. Can you post an example of
the dialog , showing sp_help not doing this?
For your own procs referring to this table, you'll need to drop & recreate
the procedure for the new column to be picked up. THis is expected and
documented behaviour BTW.

HTH,

Ok I figured out the problem. The table in A DB was a view in B DB. I

had to alter the view in B DB for the stored proc to recognize the
change as it was accessing the view.

Thanks
