Help!!
|
|
|
Hai All,
I am new to oracle.
I created a package with one function, as follows
SPEC:
---------
create or replace PACKAGE "PACKAGE_MAIN" AS
FUNCTION "TEST"
(Empid NUMBER) RETURN INTEGER;
END;
BODY:
----------
create or replace PACKAGE BODY "PACKAGE_MAIN" AS
FUNCTION "TEST"
(Empid NUMBER)
RETURN INTEGER AS
--performing a select using empid in where clause
END;
My question is "How to give value for that empid?"
Looking forward for the response...
Thanx in advance... |

Just like an ordinary parameter in an ordinary 3GL programming
language, as demonstrated in the PL/SQL reference manual.
Does the IQ of developers dwindly that rapidly, or are you just an
exceptional case?

While I do not dispute that the original question was astoundingly trivial,
please think twice before you reply in such a rude manner.
Remember, you do not have to reply to postings that you perceive as
silly or irrelevant. Giving no answer is also an answer, and in a case
like that maybe the best.
The general tone on Usenet has already become so much more rude than it
used to be, there's no need to add to that.

I agree. I haven't been on this newsgroup for some years, but immediately
saw the familiar Sybrand Bakker replies, like he's been doing for years now.
I suggest he creates his own comp.databases.oracle.SybrandBakker group......
Some questions are trivial, but if they are, the answers are too in most
cases.
It's not only people in this newsgroup he's frustrating. It seems to be a
hobby of his. For those who can read Dutch read this:

feit dat de meeste nederlandse niet gemodereerd zijn, kunnen eikels
zoals jij hier nog altijd hun uitwerpselen in kwijt.

Thank you for expressing your opinion. We will give it all of the
consideration it is worth.
That said ... perhaps you would remember that top posting is not
appreciated.
Yeah I haven't changed much either. ;-)
Thank you.

So, I turned to inline posting. But: can anyone explain why this is such a
big issue? Especially when I read a thread top to bottom I have to scroll
through the text I have read several times by then. And don't tell me just
to read the last message, because people who make a big issue over top
posting are also the ones snapping out parts of the text. But maybe you're
right and I should turn to a different news reader, Outlook is a crime
(after Pink Floyd).

Quoting is another problem. Usually one responds with only
the relevant data of the original message - all the rest
is snipped - some people adhere to the cistom of indicating
something actually was
[snipped]
by using the above (or {deletia})
