There is a problem with attempting to install Ghostscript on
OpenBSD 3.9 when X11 is not present. The command

'pkg_add ghostscript-7.05p7-no_x11.tgz'

succeeds, but installation of the fonts fails because there are no
X11-directories present. There are 2 failures of attempts to exec
font configuration programs normally present in X11 directories and
1 failure of another font installation program that also assumes
existence of X11-related directories.

Are X11 directories required even in no_x11 installations in order
to use ghostscript? If not, what is the work-around?

Thanks,
Dave Feustel

This might be a bug. You can install using pkg_add -F scripts, from a
quick look at pkg_add(Cool.

gs was installed, but the fonts accompanying it were not since there

were no x11 font directories for the fonts to be copied to.

I'm not certain what you mean here - care to give the full original
error message(s)?

I wanted to get the exact error message so I pkg_delete'd ghostscript
then started script and then did a pkg_add ghostscript-7.05p7-no_x11.tgz.
But there were no error messages at all printed this time. I have no idea
why. Sorry.
