Tried setting up IP address and DHCP - frustrating, no results, only

question is how to enable remote lgin to my workstation when I try to
ssh from my laptop for example I got "Connection refused", I can ssh
the laptop from Octane2 computer although??? Please guys help. Thank

Im sure your ADSL is connected to a DSL router and not to your octane.
Your router have to provide some general imformation by DHCP or (what i
have preferer when using an IRIX box) using static IPs.

Create a '/etc/resolv.conf' and enter your DNS servers there. Check your
router infopage for that or take a look to the other clients.

Setup the default route by editing the lastline of
'/etc/config/static-route.options'.

After that you have to restart the network by using the init script
followed by a 'nsadmin flush'.

No see if you can ping your router. If it works check if 66.249.85.104
also works.

Now use ping www.google.com to see if dns lookups are working.

By default there is no SSHD installed on an IRIX machine. And if so
check if its runing.
