Hello,

first i'd like to say, that i really like postfix' easy configuration.
But after using postfix for about a year i run in some trouble.
I hope theses problems can be solved by another configuration, patche or
whatever. If i do not get rid of these i might need to change mta Sad.

First of all i want to have an easy way of filtering spam and viruses.
The best would be if i can scan for spam and virus just while recieving
the mail, so i can reject it, if configurable conditions are met,
otherwise the mail should be tagged.
I don't want to have tagged outgoing mail and mails i recieve as
secondary mx.

The second thing is maybe just a little configuration issue. I regulary
get mails with reciepient syntax -crazynick-@cheapprovider.tld bounced.
Does this conform with the rfc and however, can i make postfix accept
these mails? I do not want these mails to be lost.

The third problem is when sending mails via the sendmail binary
interface via a perl or php script executed by the webserver, the return
path is always set to the posix system user, in this case www-data. This
makes the mail return to me as administrator (via aliases www-data ->
root -> admins). I want them to return to the from address (or the MAIL
FROM:), so the admin of the script gets the information on unavailable
reciepients.

I would be happy to have these problems solved.
Thx in advance,
yours sincerely

Use a content_filter. amavisd-new is popular and reliable, there are other
good choices that may suit your needs better.

The return path is always set to the envelope sender.
You should set the envelope sender with "sendmail -f sender@domain"
