postfix+spamassassin..
|
|
|
Hi Guys,
im getting nowhere trying to implement spamassassin and postfix, i've done
exactly whats listed at this url:
http://blog.subverted.net/index.php?p=459
(along with many other attempts accoring to many other urls)
all i end up with is a circular mail problem... mail comes into postfix,
the content filter sends it to sendmail, which then smtp's it back into postfix
again, which then sends it straight back out to the content filter (sendmail)...
rinse and repeat... to me this is the correct behaviour, and sendmail is
doing the correct thing... The cycle is only broken once the limit on the
number of hops is exceeded, then an error message gets sent back, and since
the email came from a local account to begin with, the problem re-itterates
itself (until i can break the cycle by killing postfix)..
The only change i've made to postfix (as it came with fedora core 2) has
been to add in my own domains and turn on maildir support... originally i
was running sendmail, but because i wanted maildir, i decided to make the
switch...
Any suggestions greatly appreciated..

Perhaps you didn't do the switch from Sendmail to Postfix as you're supposed
to do with Redhat (alternatives). Fix the mess, mainly symlink /usr/sbin/sendmail |
to postfix's sendmail-binary. On the other hand, why do you still have Sendmail
installed?
Jussi,
Your 100% correct. Why was it still installed? mostly cause i wasnt sure
whether i'd have to roll back on what i was doing, so i was keeping it around
until it was all working properly...
Thanks heaps Jussi, you've made my night:)
