qq temporary problem (#4.3.0) qmail-scanner.queue.pl

Hi all,
I have been searching for a resolution to my problem all over the place
and found in your mail list archive, that you guys are by far the most
intuitive, I realize this is not 100% qmail related but somewhere
between 90-10% is, so please bear with me.
I was in the list archive pretty much the same problem.
When sending an email to the smtp server a response of qq temporary
problem (#4.3.0) is received, now I've narrowed it down to the following:
I've changed /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run script
from this:
QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue.pl" export QMAILQUEUE
to this:
QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-scanner-queue." export QMAILQUEUE
and then to this:
QMAILQUEUE="/var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue" export QMAILQUEUE
and now it works
I realize it is a problem with spamd not starting and ergo the
qmail-scanner-queue.pl does not function.
do you have any pointers at where to start looking and how to fix the
problem.
My setup is as follows: I used the www.qmailrocks.org site to install
qmail and all of its toys, last night is where the problem came into
affect. I tried to update the clamav and spamassassin and of course got
90% of the way but I'm still very much a newbie at this. So I follow
exactly what's on the page trying to learn from it.
Now the problem came when I tried to update my rpm's of clamav and
spamassassin, they had dependencies and I still can't get clamav to the
most current version (sitting on 80.1).
Anyway that's off the track.
Got any insight guys?
Thanks a mil
