I've got a problem with a SGI Octane that doesn't work. When I insert
keyboard, mouse and monitor with its cable 13W3, and without inserting
the external cd burner, the red led (blinking) is on and the SGI
doesn't start.

In front of the SGI I find green leds, in the low part at right hand,
they are lighting this way:
[X]
[ ] [ ]
[ ] [ ]
[X] [X]

I can't nor start the Octane without the two hard disks.

I think the problem was in the transfer: at the departure, the SGI
worked perfectly, but not so at the arrival. I have to write the
declaration for the insurance, but I don't know where the mistake is.

Have you got some suggestion???

Ciao, Keres.

The RAM has probably shaken loose. Remove the system module and remove and
re-seat the memory modules.

And from Google Groups:
: The LEDs are simply link status lights. There is actually seven
: LEDs:
: BaseIO X
: QA X X PCI Expansion
: QD X X QB
: QC X X Heart
: The BaseIO and Heart are connected internally and are part of the
: IP30, so these will always be lit. The QA-QD refer to the quad
: module, which is labeled like this when facing the rear of the
: Octane:
: QA | QB
: -------
: QC | QD
: QA should always be lit as the first graphics card is installed in
: Quadrant A. The other LEDs will be lit depending on what XIO options
: are installed.
: The PCI Expansion LED will be lit if there is a PCI shoebox
: installed.

You should check to be sure that all your XIO cards are accounted for, and
ensure that the graphics card is in the QA slot.
