I am a running senamil on my FreeBSD, I want to upgrade(via ports) it to the
latest one
without deleting the *mc file and other related files to my old sendmail
configuration
Any help?

telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to domain.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 domain ESMTP Sendmail 8.12.9/8.12.9; Mon, 14 Feb 2005 18:21:58 GMT
Connection closed by foreign host.
$ uname -a
FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE #0: Sun Oct 19 11:50:50 GMT 2003
xx@domain:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/SDC i386

Check this out and see if it applies. You may also want to look into

Try using "portversion" and "portupgrade" from the article. You should be
able to upgrade just the sendmail port if you want.
