Adding a range of IPs, FreeBSD 5.3
|
|
|
Hi there,
I have a FreeBSD box which I'd like to add 30 IPs to. The original IP
is configured in /etc/rc.conf, via 'ifconfig_fxp0="inet 216.194.67.189
netmask 255.255.255.0"', and I want to add the IPs 66.51.113.193 to
66.51.113.223, netmask 255.255.255.224.
What's the recommended way for doing this?
Thanks,
Morten |

You will probably find that you have to add them all with /32 netmasks, |
since sub-interfaces don't usually allow anything greater.
You need to add a bunch of alias statements to rc.conf. You can do this
manually, or rig up a "for" statement to add them manually. You seem to
understand rc.conf OK.
Look up the alias option in man ifconfig. |
