FYI: Suse Professional 9.0 & adaptec Hostraid ( ultra320 )
|
|
|
Given
DELL Precsion 670 with an Adaptec 7901A HBA ( Hostraid / Ultra320) and raid
enabled.
I only could get Suse 9.0 Professional runing this hardware with an update
disk from adaptec
Take a look at www.adaptec.com and download:
U320 HostRAID Driver v3.00.037 (RPM + IMG) for SuSE 9.0 on i686 (
a320raid.o )
Important notice:
DO NOT use the 9.0 boot image on SUSEs ftp server because the kernel will
give you some error messages ( unresloved symbols ) if it tries to load the
driver (a320raid.o ) from the update disk.
YOU MUST use either the first suse 9.0 cd oder the dvd.
So it looks like that the boot kernel is different between the image on the
ftp server and the cd/dvd
Hope this helps.
