Man... I am not usually one to use this sort of response, because everybody
asks a redundant question from time to time. However... this particular
issue, to me, is so all-over-the-place that I cannot justify starting yet
another thread about it.
Search on Google, use groups.google.com, look somewhere... this is an easy
one to find man.
Thanks,

It's called the archives (or groups.google.com) - STFW!
Here's the answer to your woes:
1. download the arts source RPM
2. recompile
3. reinstall arts

The reasoning there is: if it's not broken, don't fix it! :-)
I do a lot of customizing, self-compiled stuff and just don't have the
time to go through all of that every six months. I will usually try to
update every year to year and a half, but only one box at a time. I have
one box with 7.3 and 8.2, another with 8.2 and my new one with 9.2
(which had 9.1 on it for about two weeks) . . .

I've been using Riva TNT2 nVidia cards for quite a while now. Even 3D. A
year ago, SWMBO bought a handful of them on ebay (most with 32MB, one
with 64MB) for about $20, total for the bunch -- that gives me about
four ready spares (and don't even have to mess with configuration if I
need to change one!).
But then, I'm not 3D picky, just want a card that works and lets me play
TuxRacer once in a while, and my obligatory LBreakout2 . . . :-)

Not a prayer of helping, unless you can figure out which chipset it's
using. If you can determine that (maybe the website of the manufacturer
might have it?), then I'm sure someone here will be able to help . . .

Never ran 9.0 but I was using Skype on SUSE 8.2. It was 'Skype Beta
Version 0.92.0.2' and still runs there. On SUSE 9.2 I'm using 'Skype
Beta Version 0.93.0.3'. Have had *no* problems with it, it just ran out
of the box. My brother (the Wintard) is using Win2K and Skype version
1.0. Even *he* was surprised how easy it was: installed it and called me
and it worked; this, after we fought for a year to get NetMeeting to
work with GnomeMeeting and never succeeding . . . :-)

When you reboot, can you select an option called 'Memtest' or something
similar? If so, run it for a few hours and see if you get any memory
errors.

Looking on a copy of the SuSE 9.0 installation on a client's machine,
the file is called suse/i586/shlibs5-2001.7.29-247.i586.rpm.. If your
9.0 distribution is not complete, get it from
