These are my notes for compiling scilab 2.5 on IRIX 6.2:

#### IRIX 6.2 mips2 o32 R4400

CC=cc \
../configure \
--prefix=/usr/local/scilab

routines/graphics/Math.h -> MY_MATH_H

/usr/local/tmp/scilab-2.5/pvm3/lib/ vi pvmgetarch
ARC=SGI6
/usr/local/tmp/scilab-2.5/routines/sun/ vi zzledt.c
# comment out extern ioctl

R is free software and is distributed as source code. Compiles on IRIX
without problems. Maxima likewise - haven't attempted to compile it,
though. Scilab likewise, haven't tried, though. I can't see that
much porting would be required, all you need to try is a compiler and
some spare time.

Hello,

Has somebody here ported the programs 'R' (statistical/financial
tools), Maxima (symbolic mathematics, Mathematica-like) and Scilab
(general matrix processing, MATLAB-like) to IRIX?

Thanks!
