I am trying to use the new functionality to alter a CHAR(Cool to CHAR(10)
.... I figure DB2 now does all the steps automatically ... with my first
try I got the error message below ! I then tried the same operation on
a different BD\Server and it worked! Is their someone that has an idea
on my problem is?

It is an DB2 v8 FP8 on AIX 5.2.

SQL0443N Routine "ALTOBJ" (specific name "") has returned an error SQLSTATE
with diagnostic text "SQL1131 Reason code or token:
-2097151964|*|*|*|*||SEMAPHORE ". SQLSTATE=38553

thanks in advance,

Dany

The gui works by driving stored procedure calls under the covers, and
for some reason there was a trap, or else the db2fmp could not start
(possible config issue). Can you run fenced stored procedures in general
on the instance? If so, there should be a t<pid>.<node> file in your
diagnostic directory...if you can post it here, I'll have a look...
