Mikel,
Storing each entry as an individual document is
probably fine. If documents are small (< 1K),
you might also want to use whole-document
storage containers.

Working on a dictionary: document sizes
|
|
|
Hello,
I'm working on a dictionary of 10.000 entries stored (currently) in 27
XML files, one per letter. Since we are trying to build a DMS (Data
Management System) on top of BDB XML, we need to make a decision about the
document sizes.
- Store every entry in an individual XML document: this would make it
easy the implement locks, and perhaps improve performance (??). It would
probably waste a considerable amount of disk space, but that's not
apparently very important.
- Group the entries in one or several documents. Is there a reason to do
this, appart from not having to change the current design?
Thank you in advance. |
