I have had a similar issue with one of my units that used to run dual
1ghz, I actually stole a cpu form the 320 to run in another for
several months. We I returned the processor back to the original unit
it would either not show in the prom or work for short bursts, then
lock up in windows. Sometime the 2nd processor would not show in the
prom, but would in the system read out in windows. I would also do a
check on your PSU in the unit.

Someone else offered me this great advise from nekochan

"There's a possibility that some of the Caps are going or have gone
bad on your Motherboard. Check the ones down below the second CPU and
also above the first CPU. I had two go bad on mine and it would power
up then power off. So I ripped everything out, same problem. Changed
the PSU, same problem, disconnected drives, same problem. Then I
looked closely and noticed one of the CAPS was leaking. I removed it,
cleaned up its mess and put in a replacement. Then off it went, been
stable ever since."
