[Q] installing irix 6.2 on octane r10000/195MHz

Hello,

Is it possible to install IRIX 6.2 on Octane ?
Technically I found IRIX 6.2 can be installed on R10000 machines.
But octane is newer than IRIX 6.2.
Due to software problems, I need to stick to IRIX 6.2.

No.

But not on octane - the earliest you can use is 6.4.

Unless it's a kernel driver 6.2 software should work on 6.5.

Yes, but the Octane is a totally different architecture than the older R10k
machines like Indigo2 and Challenge/Onyx. And 6.2 doesn't know this
hardware...

Then try it with 6.4 (the first Release for Octane and Origin/Onyx2
machines)...
