that's more about how 'mount' was executed (the options)

you're executing and what is the EXACT error message that
is being returned?

Thanks for the response. Floppy is automounted (subfs), here is the
entry for floppy in /etc/fstab

/dev/fd0 /media/floppy subfs
fs=floppyfss,procuid,nodev,nosuid,sync 0 0

I did the following

As user A
* /sbin/mke2fs /dev/fd0
* cp /tmp/junk.txt /media/floppy

The above worked fine. Logged out and loged in as user B

* cp /tmp/bala.txt /media/floppy
And I got the following error message

"cp: cannot create regular file `/media/floppy/bala': Permission
denied"

Suggestion please.

Thanks,
Bala

the floppy is writable by anybody. This problem is seen in "SUSE LINUX
