Original question:

Clustered ES40 servers running Tru64 Unix 5.1a, just got through installing
patch kit 3 and now after rebooting, any application that we try to run
errors out with an "libpthread.so: symbol "__atdlclose_mutex" unresolved" on
any application that we try to run.

My thanks to Daniel Pettersson and Pat O'Brien for sharing their tales of
woe regarding their upgrades. What made me really uneasy about this was
that we were unable to roll back from the patch. We were able to work
around it by restoring the libpthread.so file. I'm holding my breath as
both Apache and Oracle didn't start up exactly as they should, but we think
we can fix that in a similar manner. I'll post again if anything else of
major importance rears it's ugly head.
