Hi and hope you are well.
I have a rs6k 43P 200MHz unit that worked. The original owners wanted to trash the unit but I suggested just destroying the drives would be good enough.
I believe the original unit may have been a DCAS (~2GB) 68pin F/W scsi unit. I have replace them with: First, two DFHS-S2W units (~2GB each) and; second, a mixture of DFHS-S2W and DCHS-04U (~4GB). I'm not sure of the option block (the original drives had none) and I still cannot load AIX 4.1 or AIX 4.3.
Under firmware control, firmware TIG98075, DFHS-S2W apears as 2185 MB and DCHS-04U as 4374 MB. However, under AIX 4.3 BOS claims either one as hdisk0 with location code 04-C0-00-2,0 Size(MB) =0 VG Status=none and Bootable=Yes. What gives?
How do I install AIX to this machine?
How do I switch to and/or copy files from the floppy drive?
I am on a minimal ksh (very minimal)
Thanks, Ed |
