Thanks for the responce. I used yast2 and chose the package and the
software did the rest. I belive it was rpm and 64 bit. Nevertheless,
before I upgraded Firefox, Flash Player was working without any
problems. I did install Flash Player earlier with no difficulty. Now,
when I try to install the same .tar file by following the step given in
the web page I get messages.

Best Regards

Hi,

I am using Suse 10.1 on a AMD64 machine. I did some upgrading and
installed the new Firefox. Before that I had Macromedia Flash Player
working with Firefox. Now I can not insall Flash Player! I get a
message telling that Flah Player for 86_64 is not available when I try
to install it. What am I suppose to do to ? Many thanks for the help.

Did you install Firefox from RPM or compile it?
I found that when I compiled it on my AMD64 system it compiled in 64 bit of
course, so almost none of the 32bit plugins worked properly 8(
There is no 64 bit version of flash from Macromedia (now Adobe), and as it
is closed source, noone has been able to recompile it for the linux
community. There are a couple of projects to reverse engineer the flash
spec and create an open player/plugin, but these are nowhere near complete
yet, and of course are trying to shoot at a moving target with the changing
spec of flash.
