Hello NG!

For all who's interested:

.... the solution was the xorg.conf file. Without a xorg.conf file X
create a config-file "on the fly" with "getconfig" i think. And in the
logfile from this X-Server i saw that the x-keyborad-layout was "us". I
made my own xorg.conf file and change the x-keyborad-layout to "de" and
all went fine..

Regards Robert

Hello NG!

this is my first posting in this group, so please be patient..

My problem: in rc.conf i have keymap="german.iso" an in KDE i use
language "German". I start kdm at boot-time and all works great. But
when i want to login in kdm the keyboard is in english not in german.
This is a problem because the password from our users often contains
characters like "!" or "?" and they get a message like "failed login".

If the user then logged in in KDE the keyboard is german... I configure
the kdm an use "german" as default language but no effect...the keyboard
in kdm is still english..

Can anybody help me?

Regards Robert
