Did anybody notice that if you add the security patch from Suse to
Adobe Acroread that it no longer functions in Firefox? What's up with
that? You can't open any PDF's on line, you have to download them and
open them locally.

Hi

That's normally because dragonegg (kpdf) is still installed. Remove it
and it should all be fine.

There's another method that works, too -- at least most of the time!
When Firefox does just what Claude said, we've found this procedure
works (and allows us to keep both KPDF and acroread on the machine)
It's worked on 1.0.7 and 1.0.8, don't have a 1.5.x at home to check it
out:

In Firefox, select Edit -> Preferences -> Downloads.
In the 'File Types' window, make sure PDF points to program you want.
Click on the 'Plugins' button.
If PDF is listed there, and enabled, just disable it.

1.5.0.4 has different menus and don't list PDF in flietypes and can't

seem to add it either. No Plugin button either.

The price of progress, I guess -- old tricks no longer work! :-)

My Adobe Reader is fully patched, but works still fine in Firefox 1.5.0.4.
