in
a little while. I saw the version you referred to and found it here.
You'll need to get these packages:

1.kdebluetooth
2. kdebluetooth-debuginfo
3. bluez-libs
4. bluez-test
5. bluez-utils

I installed kdebluetooth-0.99.0svn555671-2.i586.rpm,
bluez-libs-3.1-2.i586.rpm and bluez-utils-3.1-4.i586.rpm to resolve the
dependencies.

Now I dont get the error of an "invalid address" but cannot longer pair the
devices. On the phone I get the dialog to enter a PIN, but kde does not
show the box to enter the PIN. In result the connection to the phone
failed.

In kde-3.5.1 there was still the box for the PIN, seems that it is a
(another) problem with kde-3.5.3.

Seems that it still not work, so I have to stay with kde-3.5.1, can't
understand why Novell is not able to fix these problems. If they fix one
problem, you get another one.

Martin.

Well, I sit corrected. I did have this working in a slightly previous
version. It was 3.5.3-(17) I think. Now it isn't working.

You can tell me with which version of kdelibs3 and kdebluetooth?

In the bugreport i mentioned in my previous posting they told about a
kdebluetooth-0.99.0svn555671-2.i586.rpm "from the factory tree", this
version should fix the problem.

I tried meanwhile different patches on the sources supplied by
Novell/opensuse and compiled it, but didn't had success with any of them.
Will try now the latest SVN, hope that works.

I can't understand why Novell does not supply a bugfixed binary of
kdebluetooth. I am still on kde-3.5.1 for that serious bug.

Martin.

I hope this doesn't make me sound too old but......TOTALLY BITCHIN MAN !!

I've got some figuring out to do so I'll get back to you with more detail
in
a little while. I saw the version you referred to and found it here.
You'll need to get these packages:

1.kdebluetooth
2. kdebluetooth-debuginfo
3. bluez-libs
4. bluez-test
5. bluez-utils

In order to install all of these you'll need to remove some older
packages. Just read the error messages when you run the rpm command and
you'll see which ones.

Here's where to get everything (from the 10.2 alpha repo):

http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/i586

Now I've got something called 'bluetooth serial chat' though I haven't
figured out if/how to use it...yet. In reference to an earlier question, I
was viewing and then sent the video 'from' my cell phone. Not to it.
Next step is to read the cell phone manual to determine its pid so that I
can set it up to send & receive messages to/from this computer.

So much fun...so much fun. Hope I don't run out of time ! :-)

I'll Be Back.

Whhaaaahoooo ! I did it ! Yes, I sent an image from my computer to my cell
phone. Happy, happy. Now I can do really groovy images on my computer and
send to my cell phone and then send to my friends cell phone. The things
you learn by answering other peoples questions here are...Grrreeatt ! As
Tony The Tiger Used To Say. LOL

So I read the cell phone manual. I had wrongly assumed that if I could send
stuff via bluetooth to my computer that I should be able to receive stuff
from my computer. So I found out that in order to do that I had to change
the settings on the cell phone to allow 'receiving' bluetooth messages.

I wonder what else I'll discover.

Of course, your cell phone needs to have bluetooth capabilities. When I
bought the thing I was looking to the future as I had seen stuff about kde
bluetooth capabilities. So I made sure I got a bluetooth capable phone.
Now my friends are going to wonder why all of a sudden I'm sending them all
these cool images and how to load them on there computers. Of course I'll
tell them to get Linux... Smile

Up to this point it works also for me.

How do you locate that file? How do you display the environment of your

If I select the "Bluetooth Browser" in the folder bar of the konqueror (its
the bluetooth:/ protocol) then I got an "invalid address" dialog box and
nothing more happen.

It was on suse-10.0 after I upgraded kde to version 3.5.2 and it is the same
on suse-10.1 with an upgraded kde to a version >3.5.1

Bug 171120 - kbluetoothd not working after kde update to 3.5.2:

You know that bluetooth does no longer work in kde if you upgrade to
kde-3.5.3?

yast? Do I need to add repositories to do this? Anyone with information

Add these repositories:
http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.1
http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Backports/SUSE_Linux_10.1

Martin.

Thanks for the reply. I'll add the repositories right away. I'm not
using bluetooth so that's not problem.

I just got a bluetooth device to transfer my pictures to/from my cellphone
about a week ago. I am using the latest kde-3.5.3-28. I plugged my
bluetooth device into the USB port, turned on my box and Yast autodetected
the new device. Next, I located and image file on my cell phone and used
the 'send with bluetooth' option. The cell phone began searching for a
bluetooth receiver and located it. Hit the send button and up on my
screen
was the bluetooth dialog. Of course, I had to start the Bluetooth Monitor
before I sent the pictures. This is part of the 'bluez-utils' package.
So it works o.k. for me.

Well, I sit corrected. I did have this working in a slightly previous
version. It was 3.5.3-(17) I think. Now it isn't working. So I
downgraded to an earlier kdebluetooth I got from rpm.pbone.net and it
kinda works. At least I was able to send a file. I hope they get this
working soon as I'd like to be able to transfer files 'to' my cell phone.
Sorry for the mis-information. Perhaps I'll try the gnome application for
bluetooth.

I'm trying to upgrade kde 3.5.1 to 3.5.3. Is there a way to do this in
yast? Do I need to add repositories to do this? Anyone with information
to do this would be appreciated.
