Thanks for the reply. I tried doing that. I installed Java 1.4.1
first, via smitty; and then installed Java 1.4.2. Java 1.4.2 seems to
overwrite Java 1.4.1.

How can I make it work?

Thanks

Hi everybody...

My name is Mimi and I am an AIX system administrator. I have a stupid
question about Java.

I don't know much about Java to tell you the truth. So I'm hoping
someone could help me.

Can you have java 141 together with java142 on the same system? The
system is running aix 5.2.

HELP!!!

Thanks

No problemo in doing that. Just make sure each java app has the correct
CLASSPATH, LIBPATH (i don't think thats required, but just to be sure)
and PATH set.

Thanks and regards,
Rajbir Bhattacharjee

The latter may 'overwrite' the former in your PATH. But they will be
installed in separate directories within /usr. Simply export your PATH
to point to the one you want.

# which java
will point to whatever shows first in your path...
