USB phone issues

I have one of these USB phone gadgets.

There is an OSX driver which allows the use of the phone with SkyPE
under OSX, but other OSX applications (like X-Lite) do not appear to
detect the microphone and speaker capability of this device.

I was wondering if I can use this gadget (or any USB phone in general)
under FreeBSD, for example with KPhone.

When I connect the phone, the message
uhid0: Free-1 USB Phone, rev 1.10/1.00, addr 2, iclass 1/1
appears on the console screen.

To me this sounds promising, as it was identified as uhid (an USB human
interface device) and not as ugen (usually everything on the USB port
that FreeBSD has no idea what to do with).

Does anybody know what it now means that the device is identified as uhid?
What can I use it for?
How can I test it?
Is there any way I can try if the microphone and the speaker of the
device can be used under FreeBSD?
