I'm trying to set up a file server in a small office environment. We've
got PCs running Win95, 98, 2000, & XP. I installed Suse Linux on one PC,
and using the Samba by example documentation set up for simple shared
directories.

The problem. I can move files from the Windows machines to the Linux box
from either Linux or Windows with no problems. But moving data the other
way, from Linux to Windows, the file transfers are very slow, and
frequently stall. What should take 10 to 20 seconds takes up to 30 minutes.

I used Linux at home about 10 years ago, so I'm familiar with it, but
I'm very rusty. I'm in desperate need for pointers in where to look, or
what tools I should use to diagnose my problem. Thanks.
