If rebooting the server fixes the problem, it isn't likely to be

qmail-send? That would probably tell us what the problem is.
Thanks Charles - I created the doublebounceto file with root:root
permissions, restarted qmail. When the queue started backing up a bit I
removed the doublebounce and restarted qmail. In this case about a half
hour later the queue started being processed.

See the "Gotchas" section of "Life with qmail" -- sounds like you could be
having the trigger problem.

You mean for clients to connect to your SMTP port? There's lots of possible
causes for that -- firewalls, your settings for looking up reverse DNS or
ident info on the client, etc. See "Life with qmail" and the FAQs, etc.

Just the standard ones. Have you read "Life with qmail", the included
manpages, the included other documentation files, djb's online documentation
and FAQ, ... ?

Definitely not normal. The most common cause of problems with control files
is creating control files that qmail's processes don't have permission to
read.

If rebooting the server fixes the problem, it isn't likely to be permissions.

Qmail queue backed up
|
|
|
I have a simple question / problem, maybe someone can tell me why
this happens. It seems that whenever (most of the time that is) I
make changes to any control file (or most recently I added a
doublebounceto) and after I restart the qmail services the queue
starts backing up with unprocessed messages. Sometimes it seems the
only way to clear the queue is to restart the entire server. Any one
have ideas or pointers as to what I'm doing wrong.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt |
