You're very right!!!! But I have nothing about ACPI implementations,
NetBSD memory management and all that very very specific information.
I really wanted to collaborate for it, but I dunno where to start!

Certainly nobody will stop you from developing them.
It's a _volunteer_ project, after all.

I hope that this thread will help you and that someone with a good
knowledge on ACPI (I do not have required skills!) will work on
supporting this state soon.
Until then, you must check the BIOS features provided by your computer.
If you run APM instead of ACPI, you will probably be able to suspend
to disk your computer. My laptop (a Dell Latitude CPi R400GT that runs
NetBSD 3.0 now) can be suspended to disk by pressing <Fn><a>.
By the way, an ACPI uniprocessor kernel in the installation media
would be great. Perhaps someone will listen! ;-)

already implemented :)
