Problems installing IRIX 6.5.23

I replaced the O2 CD-ROM drive with a CD-ROM drive that used to belong
to a HP PA-RISC workstation. And the Installation Tools and Overlays CD
booted just fine.

Then i followed the instructions on
http://www.futuretech.blinkenlights.nl/6.5inst.html

Wonder why the original CD-ROM drive stoped reading this CD? It worked
before and other CD's work just fine.

Both disks that I used during IRIX install were blank. I did a dd
if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=10 before booting "Installation
Tools and Overlays (1 of 3)".

Hello,

I got an O2 from a friend and had to kill the old disk (big nail and a
hammer) and return the trash to the company that used to own the O2.

I managed to get hold of a IRIX 6.5.23 software library kit. I
installed IRIX onto an 18Gb disk but had lots of problems, wierd ones.
So I tried to install Linux (Gentoo) and noticed there was a problem
with the disk. So i replaced the disk and tried to boot the IRIX
installation media again. This time it won't boot, it tells me that
there is no media in the cdrom drive. But it still boots both Gentoo
and OpenBSD. So I copied the original media onto a CD-R to check if it
would work, it dosen't.

Any ideas?
