AIT tape drive problem

System is a dual 400 mhz R12000 octane system running 6.5.21. Every time
I try to attach a AIT drive, I see this msg constantly scrolling across
the console window.

ALERT: tps1d7 hardware error, code 0x80.

The system has 3 SCSI connection; SYSTEM -> AIT(64 pin connector) -> 3
disk drive box(64 pin connector) -> SGI cdplayer(centronix connector) -
terminator.

I tried taking the cdplayer off-line and terminating at the disk drive
box with no luck. When te AIT drive is moved to another system, indigo2
or octane, it does not seem to have any problems. Tried changing the
cables etc.

Any information or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks in advance...
