LDAP client config anyone?

Okey,

I'm able now to query the server via ldapsearch but I still can not
connect to it for authentication, and in the servers logfiles there are
no traces of even an attempt to connect so why is this not working?

The server URI in the appropriate files is fine, I even switched between
hostname and IP but nothing seems to work.

Any clues?

Hello,

I've got a LDAP server running the latest OpenLDAP with TLS/SSL on
Gentoo Linux, and I've been testing it on the same machine and all goes
well.

I would however now also like to make a few machines running IRIX 6.5.28
with the latest OpenLDAP and SSL use that server too for authentication,
but I'm having a difficult time finding a howto and I've tried the most
config options already but so far no luck, I just get a message that the
server can not be contacted, also in the logs.

Are there people who have the same scenario?
That are using OpenLDAP + TLS with the server on another architecture?
Do you people know some sites whith help or advised configs, or want to
share some config info?
