I tried upgrading from 6.5.23 to 6.5.26. After resolving some
conflicts, I started the install and found this error:
...
Starting new eventmond...
Doing firstrun configuration...
There are existing ESP configuration files, doing update...
Running /etc/init.d/esp verify...
/etc/init.d/esp[844]: 1134 Memory fault(coredump)
...Loading private actions...
Starting new eventmond...
check_ev_presence[5]: $(( 1 + 1 )): syntax error
check_ev_presence[5]: $(( $(( 1 + 1 )) + 1 )): syntax error

The last line continues forever and ever, getting longer and longer,
until:
...
[Remaining command output discarded]

It's probably still running. And, the install was done in single user.
Any ideas?

I rebooted the machine, fixed a problem in /var/inst/.exitopts, and
ran inst. uname -r now reports 6.5.26m!
