Performance troubles

Hi everybody,
Our workstation has a RAM of 8.0 GB (or 1000 Mega Words), which has to
be joined by 4 processors. Logically, one would say this means
2.0GB/processor. If you would like to run a job which needs a RAM of
3.0 GB, it seems to be logical to argue that you just have to implement
three jobs in place of four, in which one job has than 3.0GB RAM.
Unfortunately, this gives performance problems on our machine: in place
of 400% effectivity, we have 15% percent accuracy or something like
that.
This seems there's an upper limit of RAM being used for one job. How
can this limit be examined? I'm searching the file with this
information and I'm wondering about the method to change. Can someone
help?
Yours sincerely,
Stefan |
