These should be supported by the iwi driver. See:

http://netbsd.gw.com/cgi-bin/man-cgi?iwi+4+NetBSD-current

for the online manual page. Some machines have cards with Atheros
chipsets
which should be supported by ath:

http://netbsd.gw.com/cgi-bin/man-cgi?ath+4+NetBSD-current

Cards which have Broadcom chipsets aren't supported currently, as there
is
insufficient documentation available. However, there is work being done
on
using NDIS drivers, so these may be useable in the future.

PS. The hardware pages on the NetBSD web server are missing some
drivers,
so it wasn't possible to spot that these are supported from the
"Supported
devices" pages.

small net access to internet? this is router /ADSL modem Linksys WAG54G

getting into BSS mode???

hello
the real issue is that I managed to bring the ath driven card up to active
/associated state but i was not even able to ping my router's ip?
that was taking place in configuration with and without WEP key?
i looked through ifconfig options but did not found a big difference in what
I was making the driver do,
all kernel configurations where OK
that is same probel on both systems NetBSD and FreeBSD
thnx for your feedback

The supported wireless cards are listed here

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-3.0/i386/INSTALL.html#Wireless network adapters

I don't know what chipsets they use, so you should look at the list
yourself.

Is your card supported?

Cheers,
