octane2 video

Hi to all.
I have bought a used Octane 2 some weeks ago but I don't have an SGI
monitor.
So i decide to use a pc monitor with a video adaptor 13W3 to VGA.
I've bought a secure working video adapter for Octane 2 workstation to
pc monitor but nothing is visible on monitor.

Would not I have to see at least information of the bios?
How can I verify the functionality of the video subsistem without a SGI
monitor?
Do you think the unique way is by an sgi monitor ?
