how on earth do they make Perl in OSFBASE and leave out all the
build-in packages?!

Good question. I don't understand it myslef.

another unrelated question: i installed a package which is incorrectly
build. and it shows up as "post-load completed"
now it says "not currently installed, cannot delete." when i tried to
delete it. how could i get rid of it ?

I haven't run into that before; can't help you with that (hopefully
someone else here can).

Can't locate Config.pm in @INC (@INC contains:

/usr/bin/perl is in OSFBASE, but the library of .pm files (everything
needed to make perl work) is in OSFPERL. Make sure you installed the
OSFPERL kit.

Hi,

i have done a full installation of 5.1B2 and Perl 5.8.0 is installed.
however, i got error when i tried

Quote:
perl -V

Can't locate Config.pm in @INC (@INC contains:
/usr/lib/perl-5.8.0/lib/5.8.0/alpha-dec_osf
/usr/lib/perl-5.8.0/lib/5.8.0
/usr/lib/perl-5.8.0/lib/site_perl/5.8.0/alpha-dec_osf
/usr/lib/perl-5.8.0/lib/site_perl/5.8.0
/usr/lib/perl-5.8.0/lib/site_perl .).
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.

since this Perl is come with the CD , i am wondering if anyone else
have this problem if you happen to install Perl from CD ?

did a find on the system and it couldn't even find the Config.pm file.

James.
